Here is an excerpt from Michael Grothaus's article, Four reasons why a removable battery for the iPhone is a horrible idea:
Contrary to what you commonly hear on online message boards, non-user-replaceable user batteries arenβt a conspiracy concocted by Samsung and Apple to pad their bottom lines through the supposedly lucrative battery-replacement market. Rather, non-user-replaceable batteries have a massive impact on creating devices that are much smaller and thinner than they otherwise would be with user-replaceable batteries.
"A Swedish Prepper" tweeted the following response to the article:
@lyceum@michaelgrothaus@FastCompany 1. iPhone users can't handle that much freedom
2. Apple can't sell a new iPhone to them after a year.
3. Goobligoobligoo.
4. iPhone is Duplo.β En Svensk Prepper (@svenskprepper)
